The First One – April 30th

This is the first Iris have seen this season. Beautiful and purple in a sea of green leaves and buds reaching toward the sky. The are the first sign that May starts tomorrow. I still can’t believe it’s May tomorrow. Crazy how time flies by.

Have a blessed day!

Flags and Blossoms – April 29th

20140429-090814.jpg

This photo took a patriotic turn, wasn’t meant to, but the pink blossoms against the blues sky, and the flags blowing in the wind made for a beautiful picture. Snapped this photo over the weekend, on Saturday afternoon. Before Sunday brought storms that devastated many areas close to where I live. It is that time of the year. I live in such a beautiful place, warm and green. But right now we all listens to the weather reports a little more and watch the skies a little more. Wanting to be prepared for whatever may be thrown at us. We had rain with sunshine yesterday in the early evening. It is what it is. Sometimes you get rainbows and sometimes you get nickel sized hail. If you think about it, maybe say a prayer for all those who suffered loss on Sunday and Monday. And hoping that wherever you are you are safe.

Have a blessed day!

Dogwoods Against A Blue Sky – April 25th

20140425-102818.jpg

Our skies are particularly bright blue today. No filter or color correction needed! A lovely bright blue that says the warm days are her to stay, and will bring with them days at the lake, thunderstorms and suntans (or in my case, sunburns!). I snapped this photo of this dogwood tree out in the woods today, the white of the dogwood against the blue sky was so pretty.

Have a blessed day!

Feeling a Bit Tropical – April 22nd

20140422-085512.jpg

I don’t know what this tree is, and it’s defiantly not tropical, this is Southwest Missouri after all. But for some reason the blossoms on it look tropical to me. They look like something you would wear in your hair or make a lei out of. I think I just need to go somewhere tropical, with flowers in my hair and a drink with a umbrella in it, perhaps pineapple juice. I really what to put my toes in some warm sand and smell the salt in the air. Perhaps that will happen this summer. Anyone else need a vacation? Surely I can’t be the only one.

Have a blessed day!

Beautiful Easter – April 21st

20140421-085956.jpg

Resurrection Day is one of my favorite times of year. I love getting ready with my family and going to church and having brunch. It’s always a celebration because of what the day means to me because of all that Jesus did for me. I think that is why I like being out in nature so much, nature speaks, actually cries out inn revival every spring. The trees and flowers, the birds and squirrels, the bees and butterflies; all frolic with newness and revival. It like the entire world is says something new has happened. How I love spring and all the newness it brings. I snapped this photo yesterday, it’s a flowering Crabtree, how lovely and such a sweet smell. That sweetness is so fresh on my mind right now, how sweet Jesus is to me and how gracious He has been. I hope you had an amazing Easter weekend and that is was warm and filled with revival and newness.

Have a blessed day!
