We have been woken up by loud thunder and very bright lightening the last couple mornings. It was almost like a strobe light this morning, it reminded me that I need to have the curtains hung in the bedroom.
Have a blessed day!
This morning I was awakened by the sound of thunder and rain hitting the window. It was the best way to wake up, I love that sound. And even more interesting was to wake up to the news that Springfield had a very weak tornado. Knocked over some trees but that’s about it. The things that happen while you sleep.
Now, while the rest of the world awaits the Royal Baby, I hope it’s a girl, I will enjoy another beautiful day. The clouds are clearing off and revealing bright blue skies. Now to the day at hand and to ponder what I will make for dinner tonight!
Have a blessed day!
My heart is really heavy this morning, so much loss and devastation in Moore, Oklahoma this morning. People are waking up to lives that will never look the same, if they slept at all. This is one of those times when you just have no words for the people who are experiencing this. All I can do at this time is pray and listen and see what will be needed in the coming days, weeks and months. I can say I know where I will be donating my time and funds to help, Convoy of Hope, this is a faith based organization that is located here in Springfield and they do so much to help people who are in the midst of devastation.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (Psalms 23:1-6 ESV)
Prayers to Oklahoma!
Have a blessed day,
It has been a crazy weather day here in the Midwest. My heart goes out to the people of Oklahoma. We have nickel sized hail and a thunderstorm warning. So as the lights flicker I sit and listen to the crashing of the thunder and read poems.
The Lilac by Humbert Wolfe
Who thought of the Lilac?
“I,” dew said,
“I made up the lilac,
out of my head.”
“She made up the lilac!
Pooh!” thrilled a linnet,
and each dew-note had a lilac in it.
Below are some storm photos.
Be safe out there everyone!
