Measure Me, Sky – June 17th

Measure Me, Sky by Leonora Speyer

Measure me, sky!
Tell me I reach by a song
Nearer the stars;
I have been little so long.

Weigh me, high wind!
What will your wild scales record?
Profit of pain,
Joy by the weight of a word.

Horizon, reach out!
Catch at my hands, stretch me taut,
Rim of the world:
Widen my eyes by a thought.

Sky, be my depth,
Wind, be my width and my height,
World, my heart’s span;
Loveliness, wings for my flight.

Beautiful Butterflies, Series 13 – June 16th

Today’s butterflies is the Red Admiral Butterfly. Really very pretty!

They enjoy eating sap instead of butterflies.

They can be anywhere from red to orange, and have beautiful patterns on each side of their wings.

Have a great day!

The Mist And All – June 15th

The Mist And All by Dixie Wilson

I like the fall,
The mist and all.
I like the night owl’s
Lonely call-
And wailing sound
Of wind around.

I like the gray
November day,
And bare, dead boughs
That coldly sway
Against my pane.
I like the rain.

I like to sit
And laugh at it-
And tend
My cozy fire a bit.
I like the fall-
The mist and all.

Who Has Seen The Wind? – June 13th

Who Has Seen The Wind? by Christina Rossetti

Who has seen the wind?
Neither I nor you:
But when the leaves hang trembling,
The wind is passing through.

Who has seen the wind?
Neither you nor I:
But when the trees now down their heads,
The wind is passing by.
