Photography 101: A Pop of Color

So it is really, really cold here in Southwest Missouri. But I ventured out after work to one of my favorite spots and captured some “pops of color”.

I hope it’s warmer wherever you are! Now to make some sugar cookies!

Have a blessed evening!

Photography 101: The Natural World

IMG_0544.JPG

In the fall just as the weather starts to cool down we will wake up to beautiful foggy mornings. A veil of glittering dew is on everything. Break of day bathed in a golden glow, with such expectation for the things that will happen. So beautiful. I snapped this photo of a dew covered Orb Weaver web, quite beautiful, it sparkled in the morning sun.

Have a blessed day!

Photography 101: Landmark

The Old Iron Bridge stands as a landmark in my little city. It is a meeting place of sorts for many people in my community. A place where during the summer people meet for yoga or to jump off the bridge into the cool water below. During the fall people stand and watch the colors change or meet to ride bikes on the trails. Such a beautiful place.

Photography 101: Connect

IMG_0507.JPG

On Saturday night a group of friends sat around this fire and “connected”. We are hotdogs and drank hot cocoa and laughed so hard at the stories we shared. This is connection to me, having deep conversations, whether around a fire or not.

You can’t see us, but we are there, sitting in our chairs talking about the things on our minds, the good, the bad, the ugly. It’s what true connection is. Being able to talk about your week with honesty and not feeling any shame…

Have a blessed day!

Photography 101: Bliss

So today’s topic is Bliss. And when I think of that and what that is for me is a good walk in nature. I love exploring nature, walking along a path in the woods herring the leaves crunch under my foot. There are so many sound when you get out in the woods, birds, squirrels, wind through leaves. That is bliss to me, a walk in the woods.

Have a blessed day!

Photography 101: Water

IMG_0466.JPG

So for today’s post about Water I had to post this photo. It was snapped at a local park called Sequiota Park. I love this park every time I visit it, even though I don’t visit very much. It has this path around a lake where you go back into the woods that surround the lake. At one point on the path you have to go up and over big rocky crag and you can see over the lake. Well today I noticed the plants that are growing up under the water. It was like a garden under the water, and gave the water a teal hue.

Have a blessed day!
