Blossoming Trees, A Series

Today will be the first in a series of the beautiful blossoming trees in my city. I can’t tell you have excited I am about this series, our trees have been completely stunning, I decided to go with the Redbud. With its delicate pink/purple blossoms for the first one.

Have a blessed day!

Missouri Wildflowers – April 10th

20140410-090451.jpg

I went exploring after work yesterday and discovered some beautiful wildflowers. All really small, but so beautiful. It was like a Easter egg hunt, if you aren’t looking for them you won’t find them.

They are little pops of white and purple and pink.

I think I shall do a series of them, and maybe all the blossoming trees this year.

Have a blessed day!

Perfect Light – April 3rd

20140403-112552.jpg

Sometimes you snap a photo at the right time. Perfect lighting or reflection or action shot, and you just know. This is one for me. A little bit of comfort as we wait patiently for some strong storms that are expected today. There was already a tornado this morning in St. Louis, praying for all who have damage to their homes or cars. That’s the only thing that is not the best about living in Southwest Missouri, storms. And we get some bad ones, so you might say a prayer for all who are under warnings or watches today and tonight.

Have a blessed day!

Spring is Amazing – April 2nd

20140402-084914.jpg

We have had an amazing string of sunsets and sunrises recently. I was walking into the grocery store when I saw this. Beautiful, just love to stand in awe of it. And the people who were around me actually noticed that I was staring at the sunset and decided to stare at it too. At least some people notice beauty when it is right in front of them. The sad part is most people are so busy or distracted that they are missing out on so many things. And I have been guilt of this myself, but I have chosen recently to slow down my soul, and to stand in awe more, to enjoy bike rides and walks and the sound of birds and wind in the trees. I think everyone just needs to take a brake an notice some real beauty, might help our stress levels. I know it helps mine. I have come to discover that creating for me is a life saver. Whether it is cooking, photography, design or art, it helps my soul tremendously. So I hope that whatever you are doing today, that you get the chance to just stand in awe of something.

By the way, love this quote:

This Sunset Brought…. – April 1st

20140401-120813.jpg

This sunset brought to you by spring in Missouri. It was stunning, just stunning. I think my neighbors thought I was crazy standing outside snapping away. But I don’t care. They are the ones who missed out, they were looking at me instead of the amazing sunset. So this is for all of you, a little present from Southwest Missouri. Happy first day of April, and this is no joke!

Have a blessed day!
