Yellow and Purple- June 5th

20140605-085715-32235576.jpg

Last night I was awakened by the sound of hail pinging off my windows. The lightening was like a strobe light, constantly flickering but not so much thunder. That for sure means summer is here, those are summer storms. But as I was snuggled up in my bed it made me thankful for a garage and my home and a comfy bed. I wouldn’t want to be out in a storm like that. And it made me think about all the people who are out in a storm like that, wherever they are. God, I hope you kept them safe last night…

I snapped this photo last weekend at the local butterfly garden. This beautiful yellow-green butterfly on a pretty purple flower. Enjoy!

Also, I pray you are safe today, we are expecting storms here, I can already see it moving in. So stay safe friends!

Have a blessed day!

Raindrops on Daisies – June 4th

20140604-094404-35044529.jpg

I snapped this photo over the weekend. We have been in a weather pattern where we have had pop-up storms everyday. And this particular day it was a good old fashioned gully washer. These beautiful daisies were in a planter outside of a store I was in at the time this particular pop-up storm happened. I really love these flowers, and they are especially pretty with raindrops on them.

Have a blessed day!

Flags and Blossoms – April 29th

20140429-090814.jpg

This photo took a patriotic turn, wasn’t meant to, but the pink blossoms against the blues sky, and the flags blowing in the wind made for a beautiful picture. Snapped this photo over the weekend, on Saturday afternoon. Before Sunday brought storms that devastated many areas close to where I live. It is that time of the year. I live in such a beautiful place, warm and green. But right now we all listens to the weather reports a little more and watch the skies a little more. Wanting to be prepared for whatever may be thrown at us. We had rain with sunshine yesterday in the early evening. It is what it is. Sometimes you get rainbows and sometimes you get nickel sized hail. If you think about it, maybe say a prayer for all those who suffered loss on Sunday and Monday. And hoping that wherever you are you are safe.

Have a blessed day!

One More Rainbow – April 4th

Had to share on more photo. I captured this with my iPhone and that cool panoramic setting. I captured the entire thing! Posted this to the weather Facebook page of our local new stations yesterday too!

And just when I was talking about hoping that something would happen to make you stand in awe yesterday, God drops this! Stunning!

Have a blessed day!

Perfect Light – April 3rd

20140403-112552.jpg

Sometimes you snap a photo at the right time. Perfect lighting or reflection or action shot, and you just know. This is one for me. A little bit of comfort as we wait patiently for some strong storms that are expected today. There was already a tornado this morning in St. Louis, praying for all who have damage to their homes or cars. That’s the only thing that is not the best about living in Southwest Missouri, storms. And we get some bad ones, so you might say a prayer for all who are under warnings or watches today and tonight.

Have a blessed day!

Before The Storm – January 8th

20140108-091324.jpg

Really wanting to go back and take a photo of this place now, it is probably covered in snow, took this the day before we got more. What a beautiful place to walk among the trees and nature and just listen. I do so enjoy the peace and quiet of nature, although it really isn’t quiet when you are in nature. It is alive and active, full of sounds. Birds and rushing water and my footsteps in the snow. So much sound but so peaceful all at the same time.

Have a blessed day!

Heavy Hearts – May 21st

My heart is really heavy this morning, so much loss and devastation in Moore, Oklahoma this morning. People are waking up to lives that will never look the same, if they slept at all. This is one of those times when you just have no words for the people who are experiencing this. All I can do at this time is pray and listen and see what will be needed in the coming days, weeks and months. I can say I know where I will be donating my time and funds to help, Convoy of Hope, this is a faith based organization that is located here in Springfield and they do so much to help people who are in the midst of devastation.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (Psalms 23:1-6 ESV)
