Flowers – April 30th
James River Trail – April 30th
I think I discovered my new favorite place over the weekend. I have for a long time noticed this trail along the side of the road as I would travel to church on Wednesday’s and Sunday’s. I could never find out how to get to it, so after taking a detour on my way home from church I finally figured out how to get to it. And it did not disappoint! It is lush and green and there is the roar of waterfalls and running water. It was beautiful. So after work my bike and I will be going here to unwind from the stress. And this time I will have to remember to bring the better camera and not just the iPhone. Have a blessed day!
Dogwood Trees – April 25th
Sometime I wish I was a poet. I would love to write things that are so beautiful and can reach out and touch the heart. But i guess in a way photography for me is like a poem. There is so much beauty out in nature, and I it’s almost like as I capture a awesome shots its kind of like I am capturing a visual poem. And so I will continue snapping away and capturing the poems in the world that I believe God has left for us.
Lilac – April 25th
James River Greenway Trail – April 24th
I discovered this Greenway Trail over the weekend, I have lived here is southwest Missouri for almost two years and I didn’t even know it was there. I am quite excited about this, a new place to ride my bike, yay! And why not, Missouri was just named the Best Trails State by the American Trails Symposium and Springfield’s public works director; Phil Broyles; was honored for all the work he does to support biking. He tripled the on-street bike route system. How awesome it that! So if you are ever in the area I recommend bring a bike. Have a blessed day!
A Walk Around the Neighborhood – April 23rd
Had the chance to walk around my neighborhood last weekend, it was really neat to see the change from brown to green. The trees are covered in new leaves, it’s like the green happened overnight. The trees were bare and now they are covered. The sure sign that summer is right around the corner and that means heat and thunderstorms. Have a blessed day!
Purple Trees – April 22nd
Micro Wild Flowers – April 22nd
I love all the micro wildflowers that pop up all over during the spring, these little splashes of color everywhere, they almost can change the color of the grass of there are enough of them. It was probably even funnier to watch me attempt to take photos of them, crawling around in the mud, slipping to get to where they were (off the trail) and falling on my butt. Laughing the who time. I hope there weren’t any bird watchers out there, I imagine I scared the birds. Note to self, next time old clothes and boots. I did see my first snake of the season, so that was quite exciting, for all the wrong reasons, trust me much jumping and screaming was involved. Oh well, comes with the territory!
Weekly Photo Challenge – Up
Merriam-Webster defines “up” as in or into a higher position or level. You know, I must confess that I spend lots of time looking up, but not for the reason you might think. It is true that I am quite petite, I come from a long line of petite women. But actually I think I spend so much time looking up because I love to look at the sun, the clouds, the birds in the sky, mostly I think I just enjoy standing in awe of our world, and for me the creator who made it. So yes this group of photos includes clouds, the birds, and flowers, which are all my favorites, but it also includes that stained glass window from my church, the ceiling of the Gillioz Theatre, and something I have never seem before. I was out at the Springfield Nature Center, and while taking a photo of the reflection of the trees on the water, there is what looks like a rainbow around the sun, and so I looked “up” and there it was, this rainbow circle around the sun, it was beautiful, and even though I don’t know what caused it, it was amazing. Enjoy and have a blessed day!
