We had a afternoon rain storm and so I went for a walk after the rain an snapped some photos. I particularly love this shot because how well you can see the waterdrops. Also I love seeing Honeysuckle blossoms, it’s the sure sign that summer has arrived. And the blossoms have this very sweet smell.

Have a blessed day!

Weekly Photo Challenge – Twist

20140529-113241-41561743.jpg

This weeks weekly photo challenge is Twist. You can find information about it here. For me this usually means a surprise. Most of the time pretty good, but sometimes bad or scary. As some of you know I love in Southwest Missouri and it can be pretty rural down here as soon as you leave the city. Well, a few weeks ago I was helping my grandpa clean out one of his barns, and so this meant opening boxes to see what was in them. So, I’m minding my own business opening boxes, and what pops out of one if the boxes, well I guess slithering out, a big black snake! Let me tell you I dropped that box and ran screaming in the other direction.
So these photos would be along that same line. Sorry didn’t get a photo of the snake, but did get a photo of the pretty peony I was smelling that had a big spider in it!

Never a dull moment in this place, that’s all I have to say!

Have a blessed day!

By the way, my furry little friend is a jumping spider…

Coral Roses – May 27th

20140527-095656-35816255.jpg

These lovely coral roses were in the courtyard of our local art museum. They are just stunning, I mean stunning! We had a rainy day when I snapped this photo and so there are these beautiful waterdrops on the roses which kind of add a sparkle. Out in this courtyard is a fountain and I save some beetle out of the fountain, they were just floating in there, little legs trying to swim and I just couldn’t leave them in there. So I found a leaf and got them out of the water. They seemed quite grateful to be out of the water. So I guess I can add bug rescue to my many different skills.

Have a blessed day!

Peonies and Blackberry Pie – May 22nd

20140522-103845.jpg

Another shot of the peonies in my favorite place. I wish I was sitting there right now. But alas I have allergies and the grass pollen is so bad right now they get all worked up when I walk for my house to the car. Stupid allergies! But being stuck in the house for massive amounts of time means I have to do things to combat cabin fever. Last night was to bake a blackberry pie. I will put of pictures and the recipe later. Can’t wait to go home and enjoy it with some whipped cream. Yum! My other activities have been watching old movies, practicing watercolor brush strokes and searching for a new job. The last two are so much harder than they sound.

Have a blessed day!

Peony Garden – May 21st

20140521-084158.jpg

Besides Lilies, Peonies are one of my favorite flowers. I think it’s the big blossoms and the fact that they have a fragrance. Which is the same reason that I love Lilies. So beautiful! We have this local garden that is kind of a hidden secret place that is just filled with all kinds of flowers and for whatever reason not to many people visit it. But it is glorious, I love to just go and sit under the gazebo and sketch or paint or read. But I also love this place for photography, most because you don’t have to worry about someone walking into your shot. I hope all of you have a place like this too!

Have a blessed day!
